I cannot stop thinking about this story. By now, you’ve probably heard it, too… the boy with autism whose father grew increasingly concerned about his son’s behavior and wired him to capture audio for a day. The ending to this story seems to write itself. While listening to hours of audio, he heard multiple adults at the child’s school speak inappropriately, mistreat him and even yell at him. I won’t go into the details. I can’t think about them that specifically ever again. The details dance in my head in the middle of the night as one of my worst nightmares: my son cannot tell us someone is mistreating him.
